BENCH STONES
Bench Stones are available in coarse, medium and fine grit sizes in either aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. Silicon carbide is used in putting a fast edge on a cutting surface while aluminum oxide will take longer but it will be a finer and longer lasting edge. Sometimes it is desirable to have two grits available for either progressively sharpening an edge or 2 different cutting surfaces may require two different grits. In these cases a combination stone may be used. Axe stones and the dual disk pack are also used for edging a cutting surface. Oil treat-ing is available upon request, however, in most situations it is not necessary..
